What is Nginx Redirect?

This is a very simply redirect nginx image. It redirects all HTTP requests to the HTTP address that you define. It's useful when you want to redirect all traffic from www.example.com to example.com, see more details here: https://github.com/Senate/nginx-redirect

Self-Host Nginx Redirect

Follow these steps to deploy on your own server.

Install Docker

Skip this step if Docker is already installed on your server.

curl -fsSL https://get.docker.com | sh

Configure

Customize the settings below. Defaults work for most cases.

Deploy

Copy the configuration and run it on your server.

services:
  nginx_redirect:
    image: caprover/nginx-redirect:latest
    environment:
      RETURN_LOCATION: return 301 https://senate.sh$request_uri;

Then run:

docker compose up -d

Access

Once started, access your app at http://localhost:80
